Project Type:
Storybook, Board Game
"This is a story is about an artistic squid named Oddo and his journey in the deep blue sea. So his dream is to find inspiration that way he can paint a masterpiece that every sea creature will love.”
This is where I wrote and illustrated a children’s storybook inspired by my experiences of struggling to find that great idea. Part of this project involves a literacy and childhood development game that identifies skills children can gain at their age. To achieve this, I focus on identifying the skills kids develop at specific ages. Then, by combining research on the toy market, I learned to identify and develop accordingly.
Storybook
This set includes a children's storybook I wrote and illustrated, focusing on the struggles of finding inspiration when creating an art piece. If you look closely enough, you can find ideas in any place, even in the most unexpected experiences.

Board Game
Additionally, I developed a prototype word-building board game based on my story and character from the book.

Exploration & Learning
This set enhances children's motor, literacy, and math skills while fostering artistic exploration and cultivating a passion for learning. It supports essential literacy and English language development, improving alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, oral language, and print understanding. Suitable for children aged 4 and older, it promotes advanced literacy skills but includes accessories that are not suitable for children under 3.

Clicking Mechanism
Each rotation activates a clicking mechanism, enhancing user interaction with precisely calibrated components for smoother disc movement.
Board Game
This concept board was illustrated in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to solidify my idea. Then, I will print and bind the game board by hand and create a 3D model, printing each game piece.
RULES:
1. Begin by setting up the game board and its pieces.
2. Every player chooses a squid piece from various colors.
3. At each turn, a player picks a letter card from the deck.
4. Following this, the player needs to write a word that begins with that letter.
5. The amount of letters in the word spelled by the player will dictate how many ink clouds the squid piece will advance.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for every turn. The first individual to cross the finish line is the winner.
Ideation
Below illustrates the development and research process that led to the creation of the final piece.
